Spunbond fabrics are manufactured by spinning & drawing fine filaments of polypropylene homopolymer and randomly laying them down on a porous conveyor to form a web with uniform distribution, which is consolidated using heat & pressure in a point bonding calendar system. These nonwovens are known for their light weight, uniformity and good mechanical properties in both directions. This ‘polymer to web’ technology is known to be the most efficient route of producing nonwoven webs.
